The Belgian Drug Commissioner, Mme Ine Van Wymersch, visited the Centre following Belgium’s official accession to MAOC-N in July 2024.
During the visit, the Commissioner and her delegation received a comprehensive briefing on the Centre’s activities, as well as the latest developments and trends in maritime drug trafficking. The meeting also provided a valuable opportunity to review Belgium’s contributions over the past year and to discuss further steps to enhance information exchange and operational coordination among partner countries.
Mme Van Wymersch reaffirmed Belgium’s strong commitment to supporting a more cohesive and effective response to international drug trafficking and highly organised crime, and confirmed that a Belgian liaison officer for MAOC-N is expected to be appointed in the coming months.
